Description
Gordon MacQuarrie was a Superior, Wisconsin, native with a cabin on Middle Eau Claire Lake. He often wrote from his cabin, the headquarters of the Old Duck Hunters Association, Inc. about
duck hunting and fly fishing for the Milwaukee Journal. He unexpectedly died from a heart attack at age 56. With a nationwide following he wrote around 3000 columns in the 1930s to 1950s, under the heading of “Right Off The Reel” The book’s name Dogs, Drink & Drivel comes from non-ODHA topics MacQuarrie wrote about in his columns, many of which were about dogs and drinking. The book contains 12 chapters and 141 newspaper columns written between 1936 and 1956.
